Do Dental Implants Hurt?
One of the most common questions people have about dental implants is, “Do they hurt?” In every treatment Dr. Arun Narang & Associates performs, one of our highest priorities is ensuring the comfort of our patients. Fortunately, both the traditional dental implant process and All-on-4™ – Teeth in a Day usually cause only minimal discomfort. In fact, individuals have typically reported less pain after this procedure than they do with a simple tooth extraction.
The mouth can be very sensitive, and this is why patients can be concerned about what the dental implant procedure will be like. In many cases, a flapless technique will be used to place the dental implants into the jaw. This means that the delicate gum tissue will not be cut and pulled back. The implant is inserted directly, minimising trauma to the gums. Some mild soreness or discomfort is not unusual, but this effect will often fade within a few hours.
We believe no one should have to suffer to achieve the smile they’ve always dreamed of. Dental implants offer a wide range of benefits, and one of them is an experience that may not be as uncomfortable as you might think. Still curious about the procedure? Our friendly and knowledgeable team will be happy to answer your questions.
