1. Quit Smoking

If you’re a current smoker, do you know how that’s impacting not only your teeth and gums but your entire body as well? When you smoke, you’re increasing your risk of gum recession, oral and lung cancer, gum disease, tooth discoloration, and cavities.

You’re also more likely to lose your teeth as well. Even if you choose smokeless tobacco, it can still have a negative impact on your teeth. Put out that cigarette today for good since it’s the leading cause of preventable deaths.

2. Schedule Your Dental Appointment

7. Brush at Least Twice a Day

After eating, give yourself about 30 minutes before you brush your teeth since certain acidity in food can hurt the enamel of them. It’s found that brushing within 20 minutes after eating can cause corrosion.

This includes drinking soda or coffee as well. This is due to the acid found in these drinks. If you brush too soon it can cause the acid to go deep into the enamel and dentin.
