How Osseodensification Can Help Dental Implant Patients

NewDentalTechniqueMississauga

At our practice, we are dedicated to remaining at the forefront of the dental industry, learning new techniques and employing the latest technology to provide optimal results for our patients. With this philosophy in mind, we are proud to introduce osseodensification using Versah® Densah Burs®. This state-of-the-art approach to placing dental implants can make the gold standard treatment an option for a wider range of patients.

Osseodensification is the process of increasing the density of bone, in this case the jawbone where the dental implants will be placed. Using a special type of device that looks a bit like a tiny drill bit, called a Densah Bur, our extensively trained implantologists can fortify the structure where the tooth or teeth are missing. The Densah Bur creates a pocket for the implant, simultaneously opening a hollow while building up the integrity of the sides of the cavity. The dental implant can then be situated within this pocket. The result offers a more secure implantation for patients with traditionally insufficient jawbone density without the need for bone grafting.

It’s also important to note that patients who have been told implant failure could occur due to insufficient bone along the upper jaw can often benefit from a technique called an indirect sinus lift, made possible with Densah Burs. If this applies to you, we will review the process at your initial consultation.

If you are considering dental implants but have been told you don’t have enough bone density for the procedure, we may be able to help. Talk to us today to see if osseodensification could work for you.
