Patients can simply relax in their chair while our dental hygienist applies the whitening solution in three 15-minute sessions. The molecules in the whitening gel spread in all directions once applied, allowing the entire tooth to be whitened even though the gel may only cover a portion of the enamel. During this process, the different parts of the tooth, such as the dentin, enamel, fillings, or bonding materials, are left unharmed. This allows patients to whiten dark or yellowed teeth without risking damage to the tissues in or around the mouth.
